Serve the Lord by Serving Others

serving God and others

As God’s Prophet, I serve others as part of God’s will. Prophet of God’s are servants of the Lord and the messenger or God.

We always think that the Bible is filled with rules and statements that dictate us what to do and sometimes disallow us to experience any fun, and only focus to God alone. As a matter of fact, Bible does not rule us out to experience fun and enjoyment.

We always think that the Bible is filled with rules and statements that dictate us what to do and sometimes disallow us to experience any fun, and only focus to God alone. As a matter of fact, Bible does not rule us out to experience fun and enjoyment. The teachings in the Holy Bible are there to let us understand God better so that we can differentiate what is Good and Bad, understand what He wants us to be, and how we can live our life with Him.

Serving God is one of the greatest ways to walk with Him. It is the highest and best service that everyone can offer to please God. God does not care how perfectly we serve Him, but He wants us to serve Him faithfully as every Christian has his own way to serve the Lord. There’s no such method, no condition, and no rules to serve God as long as our faith is expressed in a way in accordance with His word.

Here are some of the Bible texts that tell us about Serving God:

Serving God does not only focus to God alone. To serve God is to serve others. It is considered as the greatest form of charity or the love of Christ. John 13:34-35 is one of the most powerful bible passages that puts in the picture what the real essence of Serving God.

John 13:34-35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Here are the lists of ways to serve the Lord through serving others:

  1. Give tithes and offerings

Being generous to others is one way of showing your pure Love to God. God is pleased when He sees you sharing your blessing to His children, brothers and sisters through giving tithes and offering. The money that you contribute is used to build God’s Kingdom so doing these generous actions is an excellent way to serve God. A ministry also shares your contribution to the less fortunate, feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and help cure the sick. Serving God’s people financially, physically, and emotionally is also serving God.

  1. Serving God through your Family

A home is a place where there is Love, Respect, and Unity. If these three elements are present, it means that God is the center of the family. Each member of the family should aim to keep the bond together as God wants every family to stay unbroken. Therefore, God wants us to do our responsibility to strengthen our relationship with our family whatever crisis that a family may encounter.

To serve God begins with serving our families by listening, supporting, teaching, and loving each other. As we tenderly serve our family, this action will also be viewed as a service to God.

  1. Serving the Community

Your service does not only focus to God alone and your family, but also it must be offered to the community. There are so many ways to serve your community such as donating clothes to the Home for the Aged or Orphanage, joining some organizations that volunteer to teach the street children, providing medical help through joining medical organizations, and the like. When you are involved in your community serving your neighbors, you are also serving God.

  1. Be a “genuine” friend

It is always easy to be a friend of anyone that is why genuine’ is being emphasized. When you are a true friend, your actions always involve with a good motive and without expecting for any return, and that is what God wants for us.

God wants us to be kind and generous to others because it is the simplest way to serve Him.

  1. Home visiting and preaching God’s words

In some communities, there are church organizations that visit the homes and provide a home teaching to all family members. It is an essential way to serve God, and it helps you develop the important part of your character – love of service. We also become more likely our Savior because we are trying to follow His good example.
